ever wonder what the percentages under your ball meant? well you get to find out...they mean how far (in percentage) your ball will go relative to your lie.
for ex.
In sand in rufus, the percentage is 60%-80%...meaning, if you are not fatigued and there is no wind, the ball will go 80% as far compared to a normal shot with that club. the distances vary with wind and conditions....the more fatigued you are the more likely you will get towards the lower of the percent range, and it will be more varied (60% one shot, 72% the next, etc) |

The basic rule is as follows.
SW = 2x distance +/- temp +/- wind
What do I do with this you ask?
k....
First :
Rain = -15%
Wind 1 m/s = +/- 5%
Cloudy = -6%
This means when it rains you will have to add 15% to your shot to get it where it would normally go.
If there's wind, say 2 m/s coming towards you you will have to add 2x5% power to get it where it would normally go.
And if it's cloudy then use 6% less power.
Knowing this we come to the following conclusion :
Say you are 50 yards from the hole and you want to use the SW.
In an ideal situation, no wind, no rain, no clouds you can check with the white circle where it will land. (remember, sw= 2x distance)
Now...5 m/sec wind coming towards you....
5 x +5% = 25 %, so you need to hit 25% harder than you intended to do.
This added to the ' 2x the distance' !
If the wind comes from your back it's 5x -5% = -25%....so hit less far.
(But still remember the ' 2x distance rule)
Now you should be able to figure out the settings you need to get more accurate.
Last reminder, the higher the temperature, the less far your ball will go.
Hope this helps you a bit.
Kind Regards,
Rob
p.s..... don't use this when you play against me cause else I will stand no chance....... |

Basic rule i use for wedging the sand is distance/0,7= real distance (you make only 70% of the distance you normally do). In 50 yards from hole i dont use the rain, wind etc, because i think it has no influence.
According to myinfo:
rain=-11%
clouds=-6%
wind= 3,5%
But find out what works for yourselve.
Goodluck. |
