Hole 1
Good opening Par 4, good birdie chance.
9 O Clock spin on drive, aiming over the water to land on fairway short of green. Green can be
driven with good wind. AVOID water and rough at all costs. AW shot to pin for simple tap in
birdie but watch as ball can run too far if forward wind. Try a LITTLE B/S to compemsate. Or 2
putts for birdie.
Hole 2
Makeable Par 5 in good weather but distance judgement leads to innacuracies.
Again 9 O Clock spin and aim to hit road on right in rough to add an extra 30 yards. Depending
on lie and weather use 3W/5W with 9 O Clock spin again to approach green or make the
putting surface. Either chip and putt or 2 putts for birdie.
Hole 3
Nice Par 3. Good HIO/Birdie opportunity.
Slight B/S required to hold ball on green. Use a little side spin also to adjust for any extra
distance required.
Hole 4
Tricky Par 4. Guarantee the Par if uncertain.
2 ways to play this hole. 1) Lay up short but beware 2nd shot has a downhill lie. Use B/S on
approach especially if front pin. 2) Try and aim for segments inbetween the bungers. AVOID
rough at ALL costs. Any misjudgements should be long so the ball goes into the back of a
bunker rather than the front to enable an easier 2nd shot. Either way a long hopeful birdie
putt or 2 putts for par.
Hole 5
Drivable Par 4. Good Eagle/Birdie opportunity. DO NOT PAR THIS HOLE.
3 O Clock spin to drive up to green or at least close in bad weather. 2 putts or chip and putt
for Birdie.
Hole 6
Tricky Par 4. Birdie opportunity if weather good and correct shot selected.
Aim for flat part of fairway short of water. on approach as uphill sloped green to pin.
If accidentally landing just short ball will always hop onto the green to allow a Birdie putt.
Hole 7
Easy Par 5. Eagle or simple Birdie opportunity. DO NOT PAR THIS HOLE.
Drive against the wind to centre of fairway. AVOID large upslope if driving a little too far.
AIm past the pin for a simple, flat, straight Eagle Putt.
Hole 8
Nice Par 4 if tee shot right.
Aim to land JUST over little white bush at right end of bunker for a flat lie. Use SLIGHT T/S
on approach to pin as using B/S will spin back way short of the pin.
Hole 9
Tricky Par 3, especially if bad weather.
Use T/S in bad weather and B/S in good weather. Study green well as slopes galore. Aim to curve
ball the opposite way to the slope for a better chance of sticking to the green for a
Birdie putt.
Hole 10
Hard Par 5 whatever the weather because of the slopes on 2nd and 3rd shots.
2 ways to play this hole. 1) If good weather drive over water to fairway (If EXTREMELY good
weather) or to rough area. If in rough beware of distance inaccuracy but AVOID bunker at
all costs. 2) Drive up to water on fairway but beware of downslope if to short and water
ir too far. 3W up towards green but again AVOID bunker and ravine on either side. If in
ANY doubt lay up short and AVOID massive upslope. T/S requied on approach shot to avoid
massive spin away from pin due to upsloped lie. Birdie putt or 2 putts for Par.
Hole 11
Another drivable Par 4. Easy Birdie chance. DO NOT PAR THIS HOLE.
3 O Clock spin to bounce ball off rough onto fairway and hopefully hop onto green. Chip and
putt or 2 putts for Birdie.
Hole 12
Nice Par 4. Good Birdie opportunity.
3 O Clock spin to end of fairway near bunker or past if good weather to one side of it. Chip
and putt for Birdie.
Hole 13
Innocent Par 4, easily Birdied.
3 O Clock spintowards green. Can be driven in good weather and correct part of rough hit. 2
putts or chip and putt for Birdie.
Hole 14
Tricky Par 3 due to green slope.
Green slopes back to front and left to right. Either use T/S if pin at back or B/S if pin at
front. Remember to aim WAY left to allow ball to move towards pin on rolling.
Hole 15
Nice Par 4, driveable with forward wind. DO NOT PAR THIS HOLE.
NEVER USE 3 O CLOCK SPIN - you WILL hit the trees!!!!!!!!!!! Use 9 O Clock spin to land ball
on fairway and bounce up onto the green. Either 2 chip and putt or 2 putts for Birdie.
Hole 16
Another driveable Par 4. DO NOT PAR THIS HOLE.
9 O Clock spin aiming for fairway before green to bounce up onto putting surface. Simple chip
and putt or 2 putts for birdie.
Hole 17
Nice Par 5. EASY Birdie opportunity.
Drive to edge of water NEVER over it. Use B/S on approach as green slopes front to back. Alter
shot according to green side slope. Chip and putt or 2 putts for Birdie.
Hole 18
Nice Par 3 to finish. Good Birdie opportunity.
Green slopes from back to front so SLIGHT T/S required to hold ball on green. Adjust with
SLIGHT sidespin also for distance variance. HIO chance if minimal wind.
This guide should set you on your way nicely to becomming a TP. Any adjustments will be made
following TP and High LV SP testing |
