Hi Team,
I have some good news! We have decided to do our first Tourney thru Baxter. This will work alot like the tourneys SO sponsors where you will go thru Baxter to participate.
A couple of things, it is very, very, very expensive to do a Tourney thru Baxter (100 million SO fee). So we really need everyone to participate and make this Tourney worth while. We want everyone to enjoy it and have a great time.
The details on the date and how to participate will be posted here as soon as the Tourney is set up in Baxter. Tim (Tschriver) has generously volunteered to cover alot of the cost of this Tourney fee. We are asking for donations to help w/the cost, so anything you can give, no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated.
There will be 3 divisions with a handicapp system. The divisions are 40 and below; 41-60 and 61 and up. Guild Ladder points will be awarded and everyone that participates will be able to pick a prize from the Guild Prize Locker (coming soon) after all of the 1st thru 5th prize winners from each division have selected their prize. Again, if you would like to donate for the prize locker (clubs, zods, etc) it is greatly appreciated.
Handicap will be 1 stroke for every 3 levels in 61 and up division, one stroke for every 2 levels in others off final posted score, Levels will be as of latest website posting
NOTE! NEW INFO! The 100m will automatically be distributed to the top FIVE overall winners (I believe but not positive that it goes 40% for 1st, 20% for 2nd, etc) The other prizes listed below will still be distributed for each division.
Prizes will be distributed as follows for each division (Check out Guild Locker #3 and #4 to see some of the goodies that are in there):
1st place 10 m or 1st pick from prize locker
2nd place: 2nd pick from prize locker
3rd place: 3rd pick from prize locker
4th place: 4th pick from prize locker
5th place: 5th pick from prize locker
After all winners have picked their prizes, the rest of the participates can pick from the prize locker on a first come, first serve basis. It is the participants responsiblity to seek out their prize.
Please help support this Tourney Team, we would like to be able to do these fairly often, so we need to see great participation with this one.
Thanks,
Candy and Doug |

OK Team, I checked this morning and the Tourney is right on time.
It runs starting today, 2/29 at 3pm server time (Pacific) and runs thru Monday, 3/3 2 pm pacific.
The course is Sosori and you have 4 tries to turn in a score. Please Note!: It will only let you submit ONE scorecard. So if your first try is a great score submit it. If you feel you can do better and want to try again, dont submit the first card and try again. If you havent submitted a card by your 4th try, you will have to submit that card no matter what your score is.
Since finding out that the 100m that I submitted when creating the tourney is used for prize money that SO will automatically distribute at the end of the tourney, we have changed the prize distribution above in the first post of this tread, so please read it again.
Because we do not know if SO will track all participants and their scores or if they only post the top 5 winners, please track your scores and post here on this thread so that we know how to distribute the remaining prizes. We also need to know who participated. Though SO will distribute the overall Top winners prize money. We will still be using the handicap system to determine our division winners.
Please tell everyone that you see on the Guild that the Tourney starts today, we would like to see everyone participate.
Thanks! |

Ok for all of us newbies who have never participated in a Baxter Tournament before, what exactly do we do? Go see Baxter, register, go play and submit card or decide which score we like best at the end of that peticular round? |
